Me cambiaron!
Well, i've got some news... i will no longer be in Lota. President has
called me to Huequen in Angol... on top of that i am DISTRICT LEADER!
i don't know how i feel. overwhelmed? si. under-qualified? si. not ready
to leave Lota? si. but that's how the mission is... i'm excited for a
new challenge, but at the same time i don't know if i'm close to ready
for it. now instead of just worrying about me and my comp. i'm
worrying about three other sectors! it's going to be different for
sure, but my new comp will be Elder Beatty. i've heard he is just a
stud! so i'm glad i will have a little extra support getting the things
done; not really having to worry about his Spanish or making sure he's
doing what he needs to. i know i can do it as long as i rely on the
Lord. He was the one who called me to Angol and to be a district
leader. it's just crazzzzy....
well, good and bad news here in Lota. i'm going to miss my comp Elder
Allen... we got along pretty well! we had a baptism on Saturday!
Natali finally got baptized! and she even asked me to do it! i haven't
dressed in white in a long time so... i'm not gonna lie... it felt good! she
is going to be a great member. she's got a lot to learn, but is well on
her way. on the other hand, we had Dagoberto's baptism planned for Saturday
as well. everything was going absolutely great!... he even passed the
interview the night before. on Saturday morning we saw him in the
center. he was so excited for his baptism. but, when we saw him, he told us
one of his old friends had called him and wanted to take him out to get a
drink. well, he said he wasn't going to do anything, that he was past
all that. we felt something bad as we talked to him, but trusted that he
wouldn't do anything. then, during lunch we get a call from him. he
tells me that as he was talking with his friend, his friend told him that he
was getting into it way to fast... so, Dagoberto said he wasn't ready and
didn't want to get baptized. i tried telling him that it was normal to not
feel ready and that this was just the first step. i told him to meet us
in the church (while we were filling up the font) so we could talk. he said
all right, so we waited there for an hour. i called him and asked if he was
coming...he said no, he didn't want to talk to us...that he decided that he
didn't want to get baptized and that he was still with his friend. my
heart just dropped. i filled up with anger. it was a horrible feeling!
after all he had changed and after all that he had learned...he left it just
like that. he said he would come to church the next day, but didn't. we
stopped by his house but he wasn't there. it's just a bummer because i'm
leaving and can't even talk to him again. it's sad how much satan can weaken
people. it makes me sad and angry at the same time! but there isn't a whole
lot i can do now... talk about a week! and now i have to leave it all behind and
start over again. definitely bittersweet memories here in Lota.
anyways, about that scholarship? how much would it be for? it's
definitely something to think about. as for Darian. i loved anything.
just packages were nice. maybe some beef jerky or just some candy.
he's only there for 3 weeks so he won't suffer too much... ha. well i gotta
say bye to a couple more people, but i love you all! have a great week!
i will answer the question next week.
