Email #44 Monday December 27, 2010

familia,

wow… it was soo great to be able to talk to you all! what a great
Christmas it was! even though I didn’t have snow, a bunch of pine trees
or any Christmas songs, it was still great… great because i
was able to talk to my family. I consider it a gift given from our Heavenly
Father that in other Christmas´s i really took for granted. but after being
away from my family for almost a year now, and actually being able to
see you guys on the camera, there is not a greater gift!

after i talked to you guys, we went to Alejandras, who invited us over for
dinner. it was awesome. I’ll let you know a little more about Alejandra
and her family… Alejandra is the only member in her house. she was
baptized almost two years ago. she lives with her parents, her son,
her sister, her sisters daughter, and her grandma. her family is
great… a little closed… but a good family. the one thing we cannot
do when we go over there every day for lunch or to drop off our
laundry, is share anything about the gospel. Alejandra said that her family
is not ready for it yet. (they are a little sensitive, especially from past
experiences… including my last cambio… you know who) but they are still
very friendly. anyway, her mom told us that this Christmas was the
first time they ever had anyone over to have dinner with them!… let
alone the two gringo missionaries! it was quite an honor to be able to
have dinner there, and it was also very delicious! the next day, we
had a baptism! it was also a great Christmas present. i can’t say that
she was really my convert, but I did help Elder Clemence a little. I have
definitely seen the change in her over these past six weeks.

Oh… AND…
after lunch at Alejandra’s, we left and as we were walking away, Alejandra
came out and yelled at us to come back, so she could speak with us for a second.
we stopped and talked to her, she said that her mom wanted us to start teaching
her! oh man, that in itself made my week. so this Cambio is going to be
much better than last. we already have one investigator with a
baptismal date and some other interested people. things are going well
here! i hope all is well up there! the snow looks crazy! It’s still hard to
picture all the snow that you've had there....

well, I am truly grateful for families and friends. i miss you all so much… i am so
grateful that life can be eternal if we play our cards right. and even
though i still haven’t gotten my Christmas packages from you, i want to thank
all who have sent me a package or helped me financially! have a great New Year!

love elder keegan wade jackson
