yes... i am still in Angol! it's good here and i'm really glad i am staying
after the experiences of this week. i have just been so accustomed
to being in an area for only 2 cambios, so it was a nice change. President
wants to keep us with our comps for at least 2 cambios... kind of
interesting. i think it has something to do with marriage prep? yep!
we are doing well though...working hard. Call still struggles with the language.
he just doesn't try as much as i would like him to. it's different for me though
because i know the language a little better. i was kind of in his shoes at one
time, so i am trying to help him.
this week has been a great one... first off, the familia of
Rosa (Richard's mom) is doing awesome. Rosa is growing really, really
strong in the church and so is Richard. he decided he wants to get
baptized! his date is for the 24th of this month! Rosa's boyfriend that
she lives with (Carlos), is awesome. ever since we started going to their
house he has changed so much. he used to never pray or have a desire
to go to any kind of activity. now he cooks lunch for us every
Saturday, makes sure that there is always a prayer said before a meal,
and when we get there... goes to all the activities. he also wants to
get married, so we are going to help them out with that this week. also
he wants to get baptized! so he is preparing himself for that. i love
this family to death. they are so great! and their seven year old
daughter loves the church the most! she gets up at 6 a.m. on Sundays
to get ready. it's awesome....:)
we also found this stud, Matias. he is nineteen. we actually contacted
him a couple weeks ago, but haven't had the time to go by his house.
well... we were walking down the street the other day and he crossed the
street to stop and talk to us. he told us he has been waiting for us
to come by. we apologized and told him we would come by this last
week...and we did. he is a great, humble guy. we invited him to church
and to an activity that we have every week to play ping pong. he got
way excited and said yeah, but that he couldn't come to church
that week. well... after sacrament yesterday, he showed up! it was great.
he stayed for the Gospel Principles class and even participated! it
was great. things are looking really good here. we have found some
great people. hopefully we can keep it going!
i love you all. have a great week. be strong in the trials you face
because getting to the other side is well worth it!
love elder jackson
