Email #81...Monday, September 26th, 2011

thank you so much for that letter mom, i really needed it. i still don't see the difference in me, but hopefully i can after the advice you gave me. sometimes it's just tough realizing the difference the lord has made in me... when i am me, and i am with me all the time. i do need to be more selfless though... just some things to work on i guess. i have fallen from the wall, but i have gotten up and am climbing over it now. we´ll just have to see how big the wall is!

we had such a great week this last week...we seem to have so much going on, i just can't find the time to think. there are just not enough hours in the day... there is so much more to be done! the highlight of this week has been 3 things.

number one: as we leave our house every day, we have to climb our back fence and walk a little ways to our sector. just behind our fence is a big field (look it up in googlemaps.com; 472 Los Cipreses, Angol, Chile... as you can see the field we cross everyday). well, there are these birds and they have the most annoying scream ever... they're crazy! they even have bright red eyes... satan's birds? i believe so! well... "satan's" birds laid eggs right next to where we jump the fence. normally they don't do anything when we jump over, but the fact that we are so close to their nest... oh man... every day is a war! it's so funny to watch Call though... he gets more into it than i do. the male takes off and flies straight at us! and at the last second, he swoops to the side... sometimes getting about 3 feet from our face! so, we have all these sticks that we have accumulated, sitting on the other side of the fence, as our defense. and when we are coming back home, we pick up rocks as our defense. these birds have gotten smart this past week though. now instead of doing their stupid scream, they go into stealth mode and scream at the last second. the worst part is, it's usually night time when we can't see a thing! not gonna lie, they scared me so bad the other day i might have said some not so nice things. but it is so hilarious to w atch Elder Call provoke them sometimes by running at them full blast. oh man....

number two; Richard got baptized!!! he is such a stud.... one of my favorite kids that i have met here. Elder Tripp did the interview and he said that he hasn't seen anyone so prepared as he is. he's humble and just a stud! i had the privilege of baptizing him. it was such a good baptism. not too much went wrong! i love that family!

number three; we had the activity as planned. it was actually really fun! we played some games that were hilarious! i am definitely going to introduce you all to these games when i get back.
number 3.1 we also found an amazing family Sunday afternoon! a family of 5. the mom is an inactive member. we have been wanting to actually get into their house and teach them for a while (they own a store connected to their house and never have the time to share with us.) so... we finally got into their house and they were just so awesome! they were very receptive and had a bunch of questions. we started on baptism right away and they all said they wanted to get baptized! they're obviously not quite ready yet, but we will be working with them every Sunday now.

things are going better. thank you so much for your prayers and support! i appreciate it all. i have REALLY felt it this last week. please continue to pray for me. i really don't have much energy..and i just want to finish strong..

p.s. i have been trying a couple diets... HA. i have been really bad about drinking water. so now i am making sure i drink two to three liters a day. i exercise hard, eat breakfast and lunch and i eat mandarins in between meals. what do you think? how could i lose my gut? need some suggestions.

love you all, elder jackson

p.p.s. oh and have you figured anything out about school mom? scholarships? i also need some good ideas on how i can make money before i get to college. ebay selling? i want to invest into storage units somehow too. well food for thought. love you mom. really... thank you so much for your motherly advice. i truly am grateful for having the best mom in the world!
