hola hola famiia and amigos! como les van? things are going great here, but before i tell you about what's been going on i want to do some thanking. especially you mom! thanks for the package. those goodies were just what i needed! that beef jerky was amazing! also thanks for the info about Chile. i am really excited to go there. the elders that were supposed to go there a couple weeks ago have been reassigned multiple times to different places. they're still going to Chile, but they're not sure where yet... so hopefully by the time i leave i will be able to go straight to Concepcion...but maybe some people that are waiting for me are in Santiago? no se, but we'll see. thanks for josh's letter, it sounds like he's kind of having a rough time at the moment, but i know he's strong and can overcome his challenges. i also love reading spenser's letters! he has changed so much. also thanks for kevin's talk, the day i got it, i felt that my teacher should read it and it was exactly what he needed to hear at that time, so the spirit does guide! so i saw the hardy's yesterday, they are looking great and seem very excited.
ok, so this week has thrown me for a loop to say the least. it was our HALF WAY point here at the MTC, which meant it was time for a new district leader. on Sunday, low and behold elder Manning (the old district leader) tells me that i will be the first one to be interviewed after him. i knew it! i knew i was going to be the d.l., but i was wrong. Pres. Morton interviewed both of us seperately and then we came in together. what a surprise! he said that he really felt inspired that we should be the zone leaders... at first i thought oooh great!? i can't handle this, this is a HUGE responsibility. but later through the day i read my scripture in First Nephi. the Lord will make a way for us to accomplish this as long as we work our hardest. i felt comfortable knowing that this is what the Lord wants me to do and that we can handle it. so now i'm excited but will probably be a little more stressed too... oh well. but that's not all! because we are to be zone leaders, it meant that we had to do an exchange. Pres. Morton has been at the MTC for over four years, and he said he can count on one hand how many times he has changed companionships. he was definitely inspired to do this. he is a great president. so now my new companion is elder Manning! i'm excited, he is a great elder, and i know we will do great things together. it's weird though, i was just really getting to bond with elder Thomas, but i won't lie... i am relieved to be with elder Manning. we both work hard and it will be great. so that's the random story i had this week. zone leaders take care of the whole zone, which is kind of intimidating, but the scripture that you sent me the other day mom really helped me. the d&c 24. it was exactly what i needed, so thank you very much! as for my teaching, it has gotten a lot better. i have really been striving at asking better questions for the investigator and having them speak more. my espanol is getting better as well. the trc this week we will be teaching the lesson in spanish..... AH! scary, but i think we can do it. i'm sure it will be a disaster but hey, we have only been learning spanish for five weeks now. it will be fun! i'm nervioso but excited. mmm other than that, it's just been the same old thing. studying and praying tons! i know that the Lord inspires us to do things and sometimes we don't know why, but the lord does. so go with your instinct (the spirit)if you feel it is right, even though it may seem a little out of the ordinary. there is a reason for it. i know this gospel is true without a doubt. my testimony has been strengthened so much since i've been here and continues to be strengthened. thank you all for your prayers and what you've done to help me along the way. i love you all and hope all is well!
