thanks for the emails mom and everyone else. it is so great to hear from you all! mom, sounds like you are really busy! im sorry i can’t be there to help. As far as the slide show goes, you did everything….so i shouldn’t be patting myself on the back. it's getting colder here, that’s for sure. the other day was sooooo cold! and it’s not even winter yet! i wonder if i will get sent further south next week when transfers come. Let’s hope i get more north! speaking of that, we had interviews this week. it was great for me... just what i needed. i was able to talk to President Swenson about the things i needed to talk about. you all know what i'm talking about. he told me that i am learning how i should not be when i am zone leader. yeah he said “when I AM
well i have been on a lot of splits lately. in a way, they are answers to my prayers. i am able to learn great things and have wonderful examples on these splits. this last week i went on a split with Elder Tatasciore. he has been out for 5 months and is a hilarious elder, as well as a great missionary. he really taught me a lot about studying and learning Spanish, as well as the gospel. we had a great time! we were able to give a blessing and visit an investigator of ours. speaking of investigators, we didn’t baptize Anabell last week, hopefully this week! however… the split was great.
i am still working on knitting.... yeah, i said KNITTING! ha… it’s way fun and a good way for me to meditate and relieve stress. my hat is turning out pretty sweet! my companion gets really jealous about it and puts me down all the time. i still just push it aside… as hard as that is. i should finish the hat today! then i will stay warm! ha… i want to make a onesie, not sure how to spell it… it probably won’t happen though.
2 stories… one crazy, and one kind of sad but good.
1. so we were riding a micro (bus) the other day and it was getting kind of full. i don’t know if i told you, but they are crazy! well, we stopped at an intersection and two more guys got on. the driver took off… turning right and then making a quick left. i knew something bad was gonna happen, i just had something in my gut telling me that we were gonna get in a wreck or something. well… when the driver turned the quick left, the last guy that got on, i think was a little drunk, and lost his balance. he fell into the door, breaking the glass. we finished the turn with half of his body hanging out! so crazy!... that’s what happens when you drink. ha… p.s. the driver was not drunk… don’t worry. and the guy was alright. his back was bleeding a little. it was just a crazy experience!
2. we went to visit this inactive family. the mom has been a member for over 20 years... but one day her son was playing soccer with another member from the ward. that member accidentally hit her son in the face with a soccer ball. that all happened a couple of years ago, but that is why they stopped going to church… because they were offended from something that wasn’t intentional. we all need to look at the people that have offended us and look at what they’ve done. accidents happen, and a lot of people don’t even know they have offended someone. but either way, we need to forgive. look at this family that has been missing so many great blessings from not going to church. it’s so sad. think of the story in 1 Nephi when Nephi was talking to his brothers about their faith. they had seen an angel and still did not have faith and still did not believe. they got angry with Nephi and tied him up. according to Nephi’s faith the Lord blessed him with strength to break the bands with which he was bound. after his brothers witnessed that they got angry again! but Ishmael’s family stopped them. after that Laman and Lemuel apologized to Nephi and right away Nephi forgave them. they had tied him up and were ready to leave him in the wilderness to die and he forgave them. well… back to that family. first of all… our ability to knit got us into the house! Yeah… sweet… i know. and second of all, we are going by this week to take mate and knit and share some teachings...maybe about forgiveness? they are going to go to church this next week. i hope they really do! great experience...
well that’s about all i have. thank you all for all you do. especially mom and dad. i miss you all, please keep emailing me and sending pictures!
