hola hola una nueva semana aqui in chile.
to start off… i finally got to the doctor, today actually. after an exam (it was legit) and a mold of my foot, my CUSTOM insoles are getting made… seventy bucks later.... oh well my feet are worth it, right?
second, thank you for the Ensign and the reeses. again they are the best things in the world after a long day of working! I’m just hoping i can find a place where they sell something like that here. my comp said that they had something like that but he didn’t know where we could find them. and if anyone ever wants to send me a package (i don’t need one right away or anything) i would like ties, socks and bottoms to my garments(the briefs) because the little laundry fairy just LOVES to steal my clothes! i am now missing four bottoms! and one of my smart wool socks! ugh. and the funny thing is the sister that washes our clothes, lives alone and only washes me and my companion’s clothes so I don’t know where the heck they went... oh well. if someone is feeling really loving and willing to spend some money…ha ha… packages are always nice, but no worries mom. ..seriously.
third, my companion. Elder Leiva is from Santiago. he has seven months in the field… is a hard worker! (I’m not afraid to say that after the first week because he is fresh and really knows how to do it!) we worked really hard this week. he is great with people and i am learning a lot from him. the only down fall is that he takes like an hour in the shower(a little of a pretty boy) but i can deal with that. it’s better that he’s clean than filthy. he’s a little harder to understand because he’s Chilean and doesn’t talk loud enough for me, but i’m getting accustomed to his speaking. we have been working really hard this week. we actually set goals and plan really well… unlike my past companion. and we do everything we can to get those goals. we had a goal of 250 contacts this week and we made it just in time Sunday night with 253! we found a couple good families, but I’m not sure if they will progress at this moment. we met a Peruvian and taught her the other day. she is hilarious! everything she says she laughs after it and puts her head down. i think it’s because she has three gold teeth. i saw something glowing in her mouth… but she was really nice and funny. she didn’t go to church though... hopefully we can get her to come next week?! we have met a lot of nice people, for a change! we have appointments with them this week so we´ll see how it goes.
with that said, this week has been the biggest rejection week as well… and the rejection has been harsh. swearwords and everything. It’s sad to see people turning away the gospel, but in time i hope they change... other than that. we are working hard and we WILL baptize this cambio. i know that the Lord will bless us for our efforts. we are doing all we can and obeying the rules to the max… so yeah. we are going to change this sector! i hope you all have a great week!
