Email #37…November 2nd, 2010

Pictures of the Zone

sorry i wont be able to reply to everything you wrote me mom, but i
just want to say thanks for everything! this week has been so
amazing! to start off, we went to an inactive family's house that we
have been visiting. the last time we went by, the mom was really sick
and the doctors didn't know what was wrong with her. they said that she
would have to wait a month... in pain... to get surgery(i appreciate our
health care in the states) and so we gave her a blessing. they chose me
to seal the anointment, which for me is still intimidating(i don't know
if that's really the word)... i just feel uncomfortable with my
vocabulary sometimes. but i remembered the talk, by Oaks i believe, and
i just worried more about the faith than what i said. anyway, i
finished the blessing...and we left. i came to find out this week that
right after the blessing she experienced ridiculous pain and some
things happened(i wont go into the details, she explained it all, but it's
disgusting)... so they went to the hospital again and she was operated on
that night. she ended up with a hysterectomy and now she is recuperating.
when we came to see her,she was soo happy and was waiting for us.
she said it was a miracle that we came to her house that night and that the
blessing really helped with the whole situation. granted... she cant have kids now,
but it would have been worse if she waited.

experience number two. our goal this week was crazy, we wanted to
bring 7 people to church... so... we fasted and prayed for it and to find
out how to better help our investigators. we discovered the doubts of Ivan,
we taught Nuri, and taught the family of five and gained their confidence.
so... Sunday morning comes and i call them all, but no one
answers.... bummer! all we can do is pray and wait. we go to
church and no one is there... then we get a call from Nuri saying that
she is lost and can't find the church. we go look for her. we find
her, come back and Ivan showed up! it was good, but not our goal. i
was a little bummed at sacrament time, but then i realized that we
brought two people and i should be happy for that. then as i calm down,
i look out the window and i see the family coming in! i have
never been so excited. i was so glad thy came! and then to put the
cherry on top, another investigator came..one i had never met before. we
ended up bringing 8 individuals to church! it was great... but it was only done by
the help of our Heavenly Father. we showed him our willingness and
faith, and He supported us and helped us bring those people to church.
fasting and prayer are reallllly important and can help with anything,
in addition, we need to have a goal. once we have a goal, we are
showing our Heavenly Father what we really want to accomplish. all
in all, it was just a great week! i invite you all to set goals, no
matter what they are and strive to achieve them. i love you all and
hope you have a great week!
