oh man that is so crazy that you are getting snow now. here, it gets
soooo hot! its hard to think you are in winter. but this past week,
the weather has just sucked.... they tell me that the weather here is
so bi polar and it really is! it can be so sunny and the next second
be pouring rain... this week though it has just been pouring rain, so
it has been hard to find people, as well as get them to church! we had
the district conference this week. Presidente Swenson spoke(of course,
he is the president of the districts) and gave a great talk about the
Book of Mormon... more about the stone hard evidence that it is a true
book... that there have been so many people trying to investigate it
to see if its true, and they just can't prove it false. it really strengthened my
testimony of the Book of Mormon. he also shared that if we are reading
the Book of Mormon, we will have the spirit in our lives so much
stronger. the spirit was definitely there, i just wish we could have
had investigators to hear his words and feel the spirit.

well, this week has been a decent one... its definitely not easy with
my companion and it seems to get harder and harder each day. (good
thing i'm not violent :) ...but i'm trying to compliment him... and tell him
what things bug me, he just always gets defensive. the truth is, i
don't really care how he treats me... it's how he treats others. when we
walk down the street, he is always... ALWAYS at least 3 steps ahead of
me, no matter how fast i walk. it just shows that our relationship is
lee than ideal!. and well... i'm a person who smiles and says hola
to every single person i see in the street. i'ts a trait that i have
been working on, and i feel it really helps people... whether or not we
just say hi or have a conversation with them. Roman got mad at me a
week ago for doing it, saying that it didn't help at all. well this
week he flipped out on me when we were with Alejandra (the best member
of the ward who goes with us to visit people), i didn't blow up, i just
explained to him that it isn't anything bad. Alejandra backed me up and
he just got even more mad because he realized that it wasn't that bad..
i just don't know what to do sometimes. i feel bad because he's not
doing very well with befriending the people, but i can't help him out...
I can't agree with what he says.. hopefully it will get better! but we
are doing alright. it may seem bad, but its not THAT bad.

as for Ivan, he is getting baptized Saturday!!! i got a call from
Elder Gibbs. it's great, and i'm trying to get permission to go up there
and see it, possibly baptize him. it would be really great to see the
first convert i've really helped get baptized.

well that's all the stories i will tell you this week ;) i definitely
have more, but i won't spill all the beans! i hope you all are doing
well. tell grandma that i love her! have a great week!
