well it has been a pretty nice week here in Lota. my body is getting
used to the steep hills, and even my knees don't hurt as bad. it is a
great branch and we have such an awesome branch president.... the members
are even getting more involved in the missionary work. its awesome!
thanks to a great ward mission leader...he really works hard and really
fulfills his calling. i have never seen that here in Chile. so it was
great to finally have someone so willing to work! he even feeds us
when we have meetings (awesome..) the branch is starting to come
out with us more so we give lessons with members. it's still not perfect,
but it is definitely helping a lot! Gissela was baptized this last week.
yet another great baptism! she was sad though because her mom wouldn't
come.... i felt bad too, but she had a lot of support there. i just wish we
could get rid of all the stupid things people say about the true
church of Jesus Christ. it has really been happening a lot lately... it
is very frustrating! i just hope we can keep it to a minimum...
we brought a new person to church this last week! he is a great guy.
we found him a couple weeks ago and just talked to him in his front yard.
he likes to drink and gives into peer pressure, but he wants to
change. we had a great lesson with him this last week about faith and
how it can help us overcome our trials. he is very smart and loved
church. when we first saw him he was a little grungy, unshaven, etc. i
was wondering how he would "show" at church (not like that matters at
all! i just didn't want people to judge this great man) , well he showed
up clean shaven, wearing a suit! it was great! he told me that he
didn't do anything Saturday night and went to bed early so he could get to
church on time (that, in itself, is a lot for Chileans) it was such a great
blessing! the Lord is still preparing people for the gospel!
well, so much is happening at home it's crazy... i keep all of you in my
prayers... especially you Allie. keep up a good attitude. attitude is
everything... smile! i love you all... have a great week!
