Email #61...April 25, 2011

it's kind of sad to hear all the news at home. it's like the news on TV...
there is nothing good going on. we always get a couple minutes of the
news when we are waiting for lunch... and there is not one good
thing on it! i count it a blessing that i'm not serving in Santiago...
everything that's happening is there! thank heavens though, the
missionaries there are protected. it's just crazy... i don't know what
the news is like up in the states but here there's just bad stuff. i will be
praying for all of you and hope things get better and on the brighter
side.

well another cambio has come and gone. i cannot believe it at all!
this was the fastest of them all. Dagoberto is such a stud! he loved
church but didn't come yesterday. i'm not sure why because we went by
to teach him this last week and he just understood everything! he is
hilarious too. he loves to laugh so it's always fun talking to him... with
his happy demeanor. he also had a friend there when we went by. he
didn't really pay much attention at first... until we started teaching. we
taught the first lesson, the restoration, and he just got so
interested! we invited him to church before we started the lesson and
he said that he didn't really want to go... that he had things to do. but at
the end of the lesson, HE asked us when church was and that he was
really interested! it's crazy and amazing how the spirit works... but...it
was a bummer they didn't show... but they will come next week. :) this
week was crazy though.. it rained. and man did it rain! luckily, we had
appointments so we weren't outside that day very much. but wow. i'm so
glad i got that coat... it has helped me a lot! when we were on our way
home after all that rain, we came to the street of our apartment. and
it was a river! we were walking in six inches of water to the door! the
water was even inside the front door of the apartment (not ours, but
the first door you open to get inside) it was crazy... anyways we got a
video of it with me and my comp. in the "flood".

and wow... what a small world. Elder Williams doesn't have pictures of
his family so i never got to see them...however, we were at Natalia's
house and she was on facebook, so Williams showed me family pictures
on there. well...one was of his older brother and i went nuts. his brother
is Taylor Williams! he is a friend of mine from BYU-I... we hung out all
the time! it's so weird that we had just made the connection. it
never clicked before. so this last week i have been noticing all of the
things he does and he is just like his brother! it was hilarious. just
crazy how small the world is. anyways that's all i have. i love you all
have a great week!

elder jackson
and, by the way, just so you know.... that picture of Gissela. i DID NOT
have my arm around her. when we went to take the picture she just got
closer. don't think bad...because it wasn't intentional nor meant to look like that.
Chileans are just like that. :) love you mom! have a great week!

AND we had our talent show! it was soo awesome! it turned out
hilarious! i would like to send you the videos of it. i'm just not
sure how... so if you know... or one of my brothers-in-law's do... let me
know. love you!

fotos of our zone and part of the zone... ha. and of a little puppy that
was just out in the street. someone made a sweater for it!
