Hola,
well things are going well here... and there... it seems! i'm glad to hear
that Allie is being blessed. the power of prayer and fasting is truly
amazing! it doesn't matter how many experiences we have from it, it
always strengthens the testimony! i will be sure to keep everyone in
my prayers... like i always do though.
well, i have my new comp.--- Elder Allen from Portland Oregon. he is a
great guy... pretty new and doesn't know much Spanish, so i hope i can help
him with that. it's definitely different coming from Elder Williams, who
would talk quite a bit, to Elder Allen who still isn't sure about his
Spanish. he has had a line of gringos comps so it is hard to get the
Spanish down like that! but i will try to help him. we are getting
along pretty well though. he's still warming up to this sector... it's
only his second. his last comp was my best friend though! Elder Gibbs!
it's great to hear about him from Allen.
Dagoberto is such a great guy....
he has a lot of vices that really keep him from going forward, but he
is fighting. he didn't make it to church again this week, i'm not sure why
yet, but we will be stopping by his place. he is a great guy and keeps
telling us thanks for being his "examples" and being good friends to
him. i can see so much potential in him that could be used! i just
hope he can overcome all his vices. Natali is still doing great. her
future husband hasn't come to church for a while though. :(...a great guy,
just doesn't get the whole picture yet. Natali is going to teach us
how to make a kujen (a pie type thing) and calzones rotos (literally
meaning ripped underwear...but they are like sweet scones) so i am excited
for that! they will be getting married... hopefully on the fourteenth, which
will be the same day as her baptism! pray that everything works out!
oh, last story. Allen's first 10 minutes in Lota, we were walking to go
get a completo for lunch. maria "la loca" (what everyone calls her),
who is this little short lady who just hates the world and walks around
Lota yelling at people, threw a rock at us! luckily it didn't hit us...
but what a great first experience for Allen. then, that night he got
attacked by a dog that has never attacked before! luckily it didn't
bite him, but it went crazy, ran at him and tried to bite him! anyway, Allen
was a little shocked, but is getting used to it now. well i love you
all and hope you have a great week! i can't wait to talk to you!
