Email #84...Monday, October 17, 2011

Hola….

you really have no idea how hard it was for me to leave Angol… the people are so great there and the Lord just keeps preparing tons of people! And, it’s so crazy how much the people change from zone to zone. here in Villa Acero, the people are sooo different. in Angol you could walk down the street saying “hi” to everyone and they would all say “hi” back. Here, you say “hi” and they just look at you… almost like you are less than them. i don’t know how to explain it, but it is different. the sector is a richer area, but the Lord is still preparing people. we have some awesome investigators! even a couple families that we are teaching. we have had some amazing teaching experiences… me and Hall this week. And, just so you know…no, i haven’t been with Hall before… although we did find out that we are related. our great grandpa is John William Shawcroft. weird ,right? anyways, it’s really different having someone with the same time as me… the lessons go so smoothly and it’s a lot easier for the spirit to be there. we have about 9 people challenged for baptism, we just need to put dates with them!

It’s crazy that 90% says that i will "die" here in the mission. (in Villa Acreo).. . It’s a weird feeling... kind of a bummer.

being a zone leader is different, but not really. our zone is not doing so hot right now and well... we are to blame just because we are the zone leaders. i just want to help them out the best i can, but it’s tough when you have the assistants down your back all the time. It’s definitely going to be a change that I’m going to have to get used to, but i hope i can do it. oh! and the branch in Angol assisted 50ish… here 170! the biggest ward i have been to in the mission... and on top of that, President Martinez and his family go here. weird! but cool.

all in all, it was a full, good week. every night i got home and when my head hit the pillow i was out. That’s how it should be. oh and it rained so hard here… the hardest i have seen! Let’s just say my shoes were swimming pools… they took two full days to dry! well, i love you all. have a great week!

love elder jackson

p.s. i don’t know if i told you mom, but I’m thinking about going into business... tell me what you think?

And…don’t even stress about being a good teacher. You’re right, It’s all about just being humble and letting the spirit work. the only thing you have to do is be prepared. There’s a scripture in D&C that says it will be given you at the precise moment what to say, all you have to do is study the word (i believe D&C 11 and 84) but don’t stress, just have faith that the spirit will testify.
