first things first, FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS MAMÁ! espero que disfrutes este dia! te quiero!
and i'm glad my advice helped you... ha... well the advice from the scriptures.. i hope all is going well w ith the singles ward!
well this week has been very tiring... we haven't had enough time to do all that we needed to do.... honestly my energy hasn't gotten any better. in fact, i think it's worse! it's just so hard with our diet, the things we have to do, and i don't have enough money to get fruit and other stuff to help me with my diet. i just hope i can get my energy level up. we have an activity this next p-day as a mission, and each zone has to do a couple things... a title of liberty, a shirt, a song, and a yell.. that has been taking up most o f our time! when president asked me if i was ready for a challenge... i finally found out why. i designed a pretty cool shirt and was even able to use my photshop and illustrator skills... ha. but it took a while. and the fact that we had to go to Concepcion pretty much everyday at least once, didn't help. on top of that, we have to figur e out what our zone needs. honestly... the zone is doing horrible. we are going to finish this month with one baptism... we have a missionary who is completely "dead" and others who are just tired and don't have a lot of enthusiasm. so we have been trying to help them have more "animo" as they say it here. well it still hasn't gone up. it's tough. really tough because we have no idea how to get them to work. it doesn't help to get after them. we know that they are great missionaries... that they have a lot of potential, but we just don't know what they need. i hope we can see a miracle this next month and i hope we can get them to work harder and just do what they know that they are supposed to do. on top of that our s ink broke :( . when i got home Elder Hall had taken off the pipe from under the sink and had been just letting the water drip into a bucket. well... Tuesday night w e get home hoping to get a head start on what we were going to do with the song, w e shut the door and say the prayer as always and as we walk back into the room to change, we hear something... a dripping sound in the kitchen. we then turn on the light to find a pool coming from the kitchen floor to our room and the other room! ugh, luckily in the mission you have a buuuunch of tools and towels to fix things... NOT! we had to use a floor broom and a rag to pretty much soak up everything. oh and some blankets! needless to say it was a long night and did not help with the energy levels... but we finally got it cleaned up....
however.... not everything went bad. i'm sorry i was venting and it probably seemed pessimistic but i thought i would tell you what REALLY went on this week. now lets talk about the good things :) ...we were able to bring seven to church this week! we are teaching such a great family.. they are awesome! the mom was taking notes the whole time! it was great. we are also teaching a 16 year old girl who has a problem with smoking. she has been smoking since 13 and is having a hard time stopping. we have a program that we gave her and also tried something... soaking 3 cigarettes in milk, letting them dry and having her smoke 1 after another. i felt so bad for making her do it. it made her throw up (intended) from the taste. it's supposed to play that scene in her mind every time she thinks about smoking a cigarette. she's a really cool girl and is so interested in the church. the spirit was so strong when we taught the restoration and about the Book of Mormon that it brought tears to her eyes. that's the second time we have made a girl cry in 2 weeks! good.... right? she accepted a baptismal date for the 12th and is so excited for it! so things are going well despite all the other things that are going on. time is flying! well i love you all. if you have any suggestions for what we could do for our zone i would appreciate it. have a great week!
love elder jackson
