to be honest, i totally forgot about Thanksgiving! wow... it's weird... out of sight, out of mind i guess.. well i hope you have a great Thanksgiving! i'm truly grateful for my family and for the gospel. what would i do without the two?
well good news and bad news... we had 3 baptisms this week! the kids are so great and are so happy. they are so funny. they were so excited for this moment. the bad news is that Javiera backed out. she doesn't feel ready, so we are working with her. we also received another referral! he's awesome and wants to get baptized right away... the only problem is his family. Ernesto is 30, but lives with his family. they hate the church and they want him to be really sure that it is what he should do. so hopefully he can find a way to receive the blessings sooner than later!
we had a mini mission activity this last weekend. it went pretty well. the stake's young men were each assigned a missionary. they were our comps for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. it was a learning experience for the both. we made them work hard. they were really tired and their feet killed! but they enjoyed it and got to really see the "behind the scenes" of missionary work. i enjoyed it as well. they had a devotional to end it on Sunday night. some of the mothers went up to bare their testimonies. it really made me reflect on these past "almost" two years... and even before the mission. i just finished with Alma and in chapter 50 something it was talking about the Strippling warriors and they were who they were thanks to what their moms taught them. i am who i am today thanks to my mom AND dad. i know i am not perfect, but i know the good things that come out of me are a product of what my parents taught me. so thank you mom and dad, for who you have made me.
well the cambios are over! i cannot believe that six weeks have already gone by. it was sad that i had to say goodbye to Elder Gibbs and Hillman today. they are going home tomorrow! it was really tough because they are such great friends. i just can't wait to see them again. it's hard to think that very soon that will be me. i need to enjoy and take advantage of every moment i have here. i really am enjoying it though. other than the fact that i think i have mono or chronic fatigue, i love it here.
my new comp is Elder Mendenhall! he is another one of my great friends! i will be training him to be zone leader. it's going to be tough but a lot of fun. i am very excited to be with him. i know how he is, he is a very hard worker, but he likes to enjoy it. so i'm stoked! well i love you all and hope you have a great week!
