welllll helllo!
first things first. in answer to your questions... for my birthday, i don't really
want anything. a book would be cool and garments, the same size is fine (are
you calling me fat mom?!).(since he requested a different kind of fabric i
wondered if he wanted a different size) but nothing really more. too bad you
can't send mountain dew! i have wanted to get the "mission" scripture cases...
so if i could have some money for that i'd be perfectly content, because that's
really what will remind me of my mission in later years. and if i
needed to buy anything here, should i use my credit card so i can be
building credit? or does it really matter? mmm... i think that covers all your
questions and all the questions i have for right now.
this week has been a great one. we were able to end the week with a
baptism! she was eight, so it was just a branch baptism... it didn't
count for the mission, but she asked me to baptize her! (we were the
ones who taught her). it was quite an experience... ha. during one of the
talks, right when the spirit was flowing , some little kid started to
snore! i'll have to admit... it was hilarious, but it was sad at the same
time... then we went back to get into the font. to me the water was
perfect! but she put one foot in and said it was way too hot. (that
wasn't really the case...she is terrified of water!) so after about ten minutes
of bribing her in, i said the prayer and lowered her under. well, she
freaked out half way in, so i kind of forced her the rest of the way (she was
almost there) and pulled her back up. she came up coughing and took off
out of the font terrified. it was so sad! i felt bad... she probably hates me
now (she had a crush on me before) hopefully she doesn't though...ha.
anyways, it was great despite the problems! and now Patricio is getting better
and better! oh man he is going to be great! his baptism is coming up this week!
as well as Carolina's (her records were lost)...so it will be awesome! and we also
have another baptismal date for a girl named Joanna. i don't know if i told you
about her, but she followed us one day and finally got our attention.
she asked, "can i get to know your church?"... the answer...of course! so we
have been teaching her and she is so ready. she actually lives in a
different place right now and comes to Victoria on occasion, so that's a
little hard, but she is ready for baptism! and accepted the date for
next month. she will be moving back here in March... so that will be
good. all in all... things have been going great! Claudia really wants
to be baptized, we just need to get her and her "husband" married. so we
are just taking it one step at a time. we did hear some rumors that in
their house there has been drug dealing, don't know how true it, so
we are going to talk about the word of wisdom. anyways... i am absolutely
loving it! even though it is a hard sector.
i know the Lord has been preparing people for us and we are still looking
for more! i love you all! i know the church is true! have a great week!
