Email #28...Monday August 30, 2010

we found a brownie mix so we made brownies for a family home evening we had with recent converts...

and they made this awesome pie type thing... so good!

yes i'm glowing in one of the pictures :) i'm little bit fatter mom, sorry ha!

Wow, wow, wow. ..there is some bad news today. the internet place I’m using today absolutely sucks! so sorry my letter won’t be long. In answer to your question… keep writing me stuff from home. Goodness, i would like to know what my family is doing! at first it made me sad, but now it’s just awesome to hear about your experiences and life. So, keep on doing what you’re doing.

this week we had interviews. i absolutely love my president and his wife. i could not have asked for a more perfect couple. they are so caring and so concerned about every one of our lives. they are so inspired as to what to say and how to say it. it is a true blessing for me.

times in bio bio are going pretty well. we had two investigators at church that we have never contacted. they were friends of two families. this ward is amazing! It’s how it should be… when the ward works right, it makes our work so much more enjoyable! we live with two other elders in our tiny little house. and when i say tiny… i mean tiiiinnnny! I’m six foot maybe six foot one. if i stand on my toes my head hits the ceiling. Elder Oversby is six foot six, i believe. Poooor, poor guy…. his neck is automatically kinked! not to mention our beds…they are tiny as well ha. It’s a great experience…

umm... I’m in choir. what? yeah i said it. I’m in choir. Elder Valdivia sings amazingly and decided to start a choir because we are having a ward conference. i didn’t want to sing, but i didn’t want to just sit there and be bored so… im singing ha. what else... the weather is clearing up for the most part. they say August is just weird, and well, they’re right. It’s kind of like Utah but a lot more wet. It rains and then ten minutes later sunshine. today is gorgeous though.

I’m kind of short on time, but i will send pictures next week. by the way… i think i can buy cake mixes here. we bought a Walmart brand cheesecake mix today and i found a brownie mix the other day. but i would like some recipes. something easy… a desert or dish. people are always telling me i need to make them something “ gringo”, so if you could send me some recipes, that would be great. That’s all i really have for now. I’m sure I’ve forgotten lots… oh, i went on splits with the assistants. i went with Elder Davies. i met him when i first arrived and we got along great so it was awesome to spend some time with him and teach a little. oh and what t they’ve changed with Preach my Gospel is the way that we teach. instead of worrying about getting through a whole lesson, we focus more on the people and their needs. …focusing more on having the spirit and using inspired questions to teach themselves. It’s really awesome. however we haven’t had much experience with it. I’ll let you know how it goes. love you all!

Ooooh, one more thing… so there are a lot of drunks here walking around the streets. i saw one the other day walking and tripped. but the way he tripped… he kind of jumped. ..and well, he went face first into the cement... ugh. i was across the street and felt his head hit. But then he got right up and kept walking… awkwardly, with a HUGE split in his forehead! crazy.. that’s my story for the week. it kind of reminded me of dad and his fall, only Dad wasn’t drunk... ha! love you… bye
